• Membership of the Kuala Lumpur Library is open to those aged 4.
• Library membership is FREE.

• The borrow rate of library materials is as much as 3 books for one membership account.
• Material loan period is for 14 DAYS ONLY.
• Borrow renewal can be done through counter services, phone calls, emails and the PKL website.
• Renewal of the borrow period is only allowed once within the first fourteen (14) days.
• Renewal by phone is allowed provided the borrow period has not yet expired and there is no record of fines.
• Please state the borrower’s name, borrower’s ID number and the title of the book for which the loan period is to be renewed when applying via email.

For delay in returning library materials, the rate of fine imposed is as follows:

• 1 day – 14 days: RM0.10 per day/ script
• 15 days and above: RM0.20 per day/ script

*Counting of days does not include public holidays & days when library services are closed.

Yes, the book can be sent to any branch library under the management of the Kuala Lumpur Library.

Yes, books can be returned through the book drop provided in the lobby of the Kuala Lumpur Dataran Merdeka library, KL Library @ TTDI, KL Library @ Lembah Pantai and KL Library @ Medan Idaman.

The Kuala Lumpur library and branch libraries provide computer, internet and WiFi facilities. Users can access the internet or do individual tasks by using the computers provided. The use of this computer is subject to the conditions and payment rates that have been set.
Users can also access WiFi for free through their own devices.

The Kuala Lumpur Library provides the facility. Here is information about the hall and rooms for rent:

• Dewan Mawar – Capacity of 55 people.
• Orchid Hall – Capacity of 100 people.
• Melur Rooms 1 & 2 – Capacity of 25 people per room.
• Auditorium – Capacity of 150 people.
• Discussion Room – Capacity of 4 people per room.

*NOTICE: At this time, the facility of this hall is temporarily closed because it is involved in renovation works.
